Debate Team

The Lehigh University Debate Team is designed to give members the skills and confidence necessary to compete in intercollegiate parliamentary debate tournaments across the East Coast. We teach our members how to construct effective arguments, how to refute claims, how to apply arguments to society at large, and how to improve the presentation of their public speaking. We strive to provide ample opportunities for our members to attend tournaments in the American Parliamentary Debate League, where we compete against schools like Harvard, Brown, Princeton, Yale. It is important for us to maintain a continuous presence in the league to uphold Lehigh's reputation as a strong liberal arts school. Funds raised will help cover our travel expenses and tournament fees to these tournaments.
