About

All of us at UCPS are aware of the residual and persistent impact of the uncertainty of the last several years, and the compounding effect that current national and world events have on individuals’ sense of safety and belongingness as it pertains to their intersectional identities. We recognize that the challenges and traumas of this time affect individuals differently and often disproportionately because of race, religion, and other intersectional identities. We are committed to making determined efforts to assist those struggling with fear, uncertainty, belongingness, and feelings of helplessness or hopelessness. We remain dedicated to identifying and helping to change factors that impede understanding, acceptance with respect, and social and human justice for members of our immediate and global community. We continue to work with one another, our university peers, and professional associations in efforts to create and support desired and necessary change. Our ability to engage in the collaborative and outreach styled work is improved by the inclusion of top level diverse doctoral trainees from across the country.

Now that Lehigh has gotten underway for the Spring 2024 semester, we want to remind you that the counseling center continues to provide assistance via regularly scheduled individual and group meetings during the week. On-call counselors are available during evenings and weekends for those experiencing crisis during those often lonely hours. We are open every weekday for face-to-face individual and group therapy appointments. We continue to offer individual services virtually through Zoom for those who prefer this, or this is more convenient for your busy schedule. We invite you to reach out to us if feeling overwhelmed, wanting to ask questions or give suggestions, or desirous of greater fulfillment or flourishing in your life. We will do our best to help with the concerns burdening you, believing that through a caring and authentic relationship with you and helping to connect you to your peers, goals of increased well-being can be attained.
