Gifts to Department of Philosophy contribute to...
Philosophy does more than prepare you for a single career -- it gives you the skills and information necessary for a lifetime of work. In fact, studying philosophy promotes the proficiencies that are increasingly necessary to a full and prosperous human life: logical argument, critical thinking, creativity, and a fundamental understanding of what it means to be a moral agent. The study of philosophy develops skills in careful and flexible thinking, critical analysis, sound reasoning and argumentation, objective evaluation, clear and persuasive writing, and the toleration of uncertainty.
