School of Education: Nobody Asked Me

The Nobody Asked Me Campaign aims to fulfill the promise of the Constitution of Maryland in providing a “thorough and efficient” educational system to Baltimore students by highlighting their lives, experiences, challenges, and voices.

The Nobody Asked Me Campaign is different.

For far too long, nobody has asked students and their families how they want to produce policy solutions, what joy means to them, and what educational justice looks like for them. They aim to center students and their families’ experiences, voices, and affirm their insights to produce healthy and healing centered environments for students’ academic achievement, career success, and overall well-being.

The campaign is currently contributing to a JHU Symposium, State Legislative Hearings, Community Town Hall with Enoch Pratt, DEI Presentation for Maryland Libraries and a key presentation to Teach for America. That work is in addition to their current Visions and Voices Docu-Series and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Interdisciplinary Research Leadership Fellowship projects—both of which hope to promote anti-racism and school health by leveraging the perspective of community youth to reimagine school infrastructure.
