GreenHacks is the first and only sustainability hackathon at JHU.
GreenHacks brings together the entire Johns Hopkins community to imagine solutions that make life on Earth better. We believe that competition sparks innovation. During GreenHacks 2021, hackers will be designing creative solutions to challenges in 3 design tracks--home disruptions, natural disaster disruptions, and environmental justice.
GreenHacks 2021 is expected to occur in mid April as a virtual multi-day hackathon. This year, our theme will be “Sustaining Disruptions”. Sustainability is built upon three pillars: the environment, the economy, and society. The year 2020, and now 2021, has presented serious disruptions within each of these pillars. In this year’s hackathon, we acknowledge these disruptions and actively seek to address the challenges they have highlighted.
Your gift will allow students to come together to share these ideas and hack our way to a brighter future.
- A gift of $5 will help our group provide one reusable water bottle to a hackathon participant
- A gift of $10 will help fund laptop stickers for 20 hackers as a token of appreciation for participating in our hackathon and contributing their ideas
