Dance Marathon is a biannual all school event that takes place on February 22 in the field house. This year's Rodeo theme will have students competing in dodge ball games, lip sync contests, Beyblade and knock out tournaments and video games. Performances by cheerleaders, dance squad and student musicians throughout the evening.
All funds raised will directly go to two charities -
Charity: Water has changed the lives of more than ten million people in 28 developing countries by providing safe and easy access to clean water. Many people in developing countries put their lives in danger every day to collect water that usually isn’t even clean. Having access to clean water within the community saves hours of time and promotes safety, health and hygiene. Access to clean water is the first step out of poverty for rural communities all over the world. 100% of your donation will bring clean water to people in need.
Ritenour Co-care Food Pantry: Serving 2,000 people a month, the pantry is unique because it offers a grocery store set up where patrons can walk through and make their own food selections. This arrangement provides families with essential food items while granting them the dignity of selecting their own fresh produce. Burroughs has several ties to this food pantry: Many 8th graders volunteer at Ritenour schools during their community service week; half of the kids at Aim High (a program JBS hosts) are served by this food pantry, and the JBS counselor Sally Killbride's husband is superintendent of the Ritenour School District.
