TRIO Upward Bound is a U.S. Department of Education grant-funded college preparatory program that helps high school students from Fennville, Holland, and West Ottawa in grades 9-12 complete a secondary education and ultimately enter and succeed in a program of postsecondary education. TRIO Upward Bound participants are of low-income backgrounds and are first-generation, meaning neither parent has completed a bachelor's degree. TRIO Upward Bound increases the rate at which eligible participants complete high school and enroll in and graduate from the college/university of their choice.
TRIO Upward Bound offers academic tutoring, college tours, access to career and cultural exploration, a 6-week summer session and many more experiences for our 92 students.
