Boerigter Center for Calling and Career - Meet Tinh

Though he doesn’t graduate for another few months, Tinh ’25 is helping his classmates see beyond their time at Hope College.

“I work as a career ambassador for the Boerigter Center for Calling and Career, collaborating with professionals to guide students through the career decision-making processes,” he explained. “This includes helping them declare majors, prepare resumes, practice for interviews and plan for their futures.”

The public accounting and Japanese double major from Binh Duong, Vietnam, takes pride in the work he’s performed for the Boerigter Center. He’s developed hard and soft skills, gained a greater confidence and comfort in communicating with others, and has turned into a master problem solver.

Tinh has accepted a position at one of the Big 4 accounting firms and will be moving to Detroit in the fall. “My short-term goal is to pass all sections of the CPA exam before starting at the firm this September,” he shared.

If you’re worried about Tinh forgoing his studies now that he has secured employment, think again. “I am focused on finishing strong academically while also making the most of my remaining time on campus by participating in extracurricular activities and fully embracing the college experience,” he said.

He’s been impressed with the excellent opportunities the Boerigter Center has provided. “I have worked as a student consultant and student lead for two years, contributing to multiple projects with many amazing organizations,” he stated. “These experiences have offered invaluable exposure to industries I would not have encountered as a college student.”
