Gifts to Studies in Ministry Minor - Meet Kate contribute to...
Adding a ministry minor to her studies has allowed Kate ’25 to pursue something that has greatly impacted her life and faith.
Working in camp ministry has been a defining feature of Kate’s young life. In fact, after she finishes her religion and communication double major in the spring, she’ll attend Western Theological Seminary to pursue a masters in divination. Kate aims to use this advanced degree to work in summer camp ministry as a curriculum writer and/or program leader. “I have very strong convictions about the theology behind conducting Christ-centered summer camp programming,” she explained.
Though she’s completed her ministry minor, the senior from Rockford, Mich. continues to recognize the importance of these studies. “The minor has provided me with a solid foundation of theological thought that has helped me succeed in my religion classes, further develop my personal faith, and has influenced my decision to pursue my MDiv,” she said.
Kate is especially thankful for the culture of excellence Dr. Andy McCoy and Pam VanPutten have created. “They’ve not only been great professional and academic influences on me, but have functioned as mentors and role models in my personal life and faith as well,” she shared.
She knows the friends and peers she’s met through the minor will stick with her for life. She believes they’re all well equipped for a future in ministry, no matter where God takes them.
Kate is thankful for donors like you. “I want to sincerely thank you for your generosity and commitment to supporting the future of the church by investing in the education of students like me,” she said. “Your gift has a profound impact on me and many others, providing opportunities and education that has helped us grow academically, spiritually, and personally.”
Will you support this next generation of church leaders with your gift to the studies in ministry minor today?
