Gifts to Department of Religion - Meet Samantha contribute to...
Samantha ’27 has found a welcoming place to explore her big questions about God: the religion department.
“I love the religion department because it gives students a space to explore their big questions about God and encounter viewpoints that are different from our own,” Samantha said. Currently, she’s exploring a very big concept: the impact of God’s grace on the way we think about salvation and sin.
Originally from Zeeland, Mich., Samantha has been transformed by the excellence of the religion department. “I have been greatly impacted by the mentorship of my professors. I work closely with the faculty as a T.A. [teaching assistant] and department representative,” she explained. “They are always accessible, they help us understand complex concepts, and ultimately, their work allows us to succeed in the classroom.”
Her relationship with her professors has inspired her to continue her studies upon graduation. She aims to be a religion professor at a Christian college.
Samantha believes that your generosity on Day of Giving and throughout the year is an affirmation that you care about the future of her generation. “Hope prepares students for a life of ministry in whatever field they choose. It’s inspiring that someone would want to take part in that mission,” she added.
Join the mission to prepare students like Samantha for a life of ministry with your gift to the religion department today.
