International Nursing and Social Work Service Trip to Jamaica

In recent years, Nursing and Social Work majors have traveled together to Jamaica during spring break as part of an interdisciplinary elective course called Interprofessional Global Outreach. The course prepares future healthcare providers and professionals to work together as a team to improve patient and population healthcare.

As part of this trip, Nursing and Social Work students travel to Jamaica during spring break to provide caregiver trainings on topics such as universal health precautions, first aid, caregiver self-care, trauma informed care, and sensory integration strategies.
