This year for our annual Week of Giving we are Rooted in Mercy. Our Mercy mission is at the heart of everything we do at Gwynedd Mercy University--what we learn, what we share, how we celebrate. Join us this year as we highlight some of the campus concerns that best demonstrate our commitment to this core value: Study Away Experiences, Catherine's Cupboard and the Mercy Center for Service, Spirituality and Justice.
GMercyU Study Away experiences allow this generation's Griffins to study and grow in a variety of locations around the globe. Our Social Work, Nursing, Public Health and Psychology students travel to Jamaica to serve the Mustard Seed Communities, a local nonprofit that supports Jamaica's most vulnerable populations. Occupational Therapy students fly to Kenya to embark on a medical mission trip to help provide care for orphans and vulnerable children, addressing their physical, social, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs. Both Nursing and Education travel to Ireland to be immersed in the culture and educational settings there. Finally, our Young Mercy Leaders Dublin Pilgrimage follows Catherine McCauley's footsteps through the capital city of Ireland. Organized by Mercy International Centre, GMercyU students join others from all over the world for a multi-day conference that explores a variety of Mercy themes. GMercyU Study Away trips offer our outstanding students the opportunity to greatly enrich their education and carry our Mercy spirit to the world community. Your support helps make these trips possible for all our students!
If hunger is getting in the way of a student's success, Catherine’s Cupboard is here to help. In addition to fresh, frozen, and packaged food, Catherine's Cupboard has personal hygiene products, baby care items, and other household necessities. These services support each and every one of our Griffins to achieve success by supporting their most basic needs.
The Mercy Center for Service, Spirituality and Justice is right at the heart of the GMercyU community. In the Mercy tradition, The Mercy Center for Service, Spirituality, & Justice team seeks to be an open and affirming presence for all, promoting the search for spiritual growth with an emphasis on service to society. Students can simply stop in and they will be greeted with a warm and inclusive welcome.
This year for Week of Giving, we are Rooted in Mercy. Carry our Mercy torch and make it possible for all students to have this unique, holistic, and Mercy-focused education. Your gift supports our community to make this possible and graduate the next generation of Distinctive Mercy Graduates!
