October 9-16 is Grand Valley’s first ever Student Philanthropy Week!
Throughout the week, there will be hands-on events that educate students on philanthropy and what it means to give back - both financially and through volunteering. Plus, there will be a spirited competition between different student organizations on campus!
You know how important student organizations are to the overall college experience. They foster connection, provide networking opportunities, fuel personal growth, and are a lot of fun. Consider a gift to support one of our featured student organizations to show our Laker community the tremendous difference we can make when all come together.

Thanks to a generous gift from Len Van Popering, '94 and Don '67 and Diane '67 Paton, additional challenge funds will be awarded to the featured student organizations as they reach giving milestones throughout the week. Your donation can help them reach these goals!
🏅Go for Gold
The student organization with the most overall donors will get an additional $500 gift. Second place will receive $200 and third place will receive $100 toward their selected fund.
💙 Race to 25
The first featured fund to reach 25 donors will receive an additional $200.

👨🎓 Awesome Alumni
The organization with the most donations from GVSU alumni will receive an additional $200.

423 days ago by Katrina BegrowDuring the Student Philanthropy Week Scavenger Hunt 🔍, students and faculty/staff searched for little stuffed dogs we named "Lily" 🐕 across campus. The winners then picked one of our featured funds to get a bonus gift! The winners are:
- Rowing Club x 2 = $200
- Beekeepers Club x 2 = $200
- Blinkhorn/Donk First Generation Endowed Scholarship X 1 = $100
We've got some news to share! During the Cash Cart trivia game, the Beekeepers Club was picked twice and will get a $200 gift, and the Blinkhorn/Donk First Generation Scholars Endowed Scholarship will get a bonus $100 gift! 🎉🙌
