💧Project NePTWNE 💧
At the heart of our work is a bold commitment to protecting Lake Erie and strengthening the Erie region for current and future generations. Project NePTWNE is Gannon University’s comprehensive water sustainability initiative that blends research, innovation, education, and community collaboration to tackle some of the toughest environmental challenges facing our freshwater ecosystems.
Our Vision
🌍 Create a community of Lake Erie stewards through learning, engagement, and action.
Our Mission
📊 Our mission is to improve water quality through Lake Erie MEASUREMENTS that inform MITIGATION and MANUFACTURED solutions to anthropogenic (human-caused) impacts leading to an enhanced quality of life and a revitalized Erie economy.
What Drives Us
• 🌊 Understanding Water Quality: We gather critical data on pollutants like microplastics and other threats so science can shape real solutions.
• 🧪 Creating Real-World Solutions: Our work goes beyond measuring problems — we develop and support technologies, engineered responses, and community-based practices that make a measurable difference.
• 📚 Educating Future Leaders: Through hands-on research labs, classrooms, and public programs, we empower students and residents to lead stewardship efforts for our lakes, rivers, and streams.
• 🤝 Strengthening the Region: By linking water sustainability with economic growth, we help build a more resilient and vibrant Erie for families, businesses, educators, and visitors alike.
