Your gift to the Cross-Country, Track and Field team during 42 Hours of Giving will support:
- Organized Team Activities - We hold 5 non-athletic related team activities throughout the year that are designed to build unity amongst the team, celebrate accomplishment and take a break from the rigors of the season/academic year and have fun.
- Championship & Elite Meet Competition - We send our top performers to the NCAA Championships, USA Championships and select elite invitationals each year. These are the meets where school records fall and athletes earn All-American and national-level honors, but the travel costs — airfare, hotels and meals for the athlete and a coach, often across the country — fall outside our regular season budget. Donations directly fund those trips and make sure that when an athlete earns the opportunity, we can send them.
- Event-Specific Equipment - We compete in 21 events, and many of them require specialized equipment that must be replaced and added to every year. Vault poles alone run $500-$800 each, and an athlete needs several as they get stronger and move up in length and weight. The same goes for shots, discs, javelins, hurdles and starting blocks. Donations allow us to keep safe, competition-grade equipment in our athletes' hands rather than asking them to train on worn-out gear.
