Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Grotto at Catholic Central

Dear Shamrock Family,

As we celebrate Detroit Catholic Central's 100th anniversary, we will dedicate a very special gift to our school in May of 2028: Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Grotto. This gift is more than a place of beauty — it is a sacred space, a spiritual inheritance, and a tribute to the woman who has quietly watched over this school for a century. It is our way of ensuring that our Catholic faith remains at the very center of Catholic Central, not just in this moment of celebration, but for every young man who walks these halls in the next hundred years.

Located at the center of our campus, the Grotto will place Our Blessed Mother at the very heart of Catholic Central —she will remind us of who we are and whose we are. A place to pause when life feels heavy. A place to give thanks when our hearts are full. A place to pray when we need guidance, and to remember those who came before us.

We invite our entire Shamrock Family to pray for our students, families, faculty, and staff — and especially for vocations to the Basilian Way of Life, that God may continue to call men to serve through Catholic education.

We also invite you to be part of this lasting gift to Our Lady — through a memorial contribution, a tribute gift, or simply your prayers. There is a place for you at the Grotto.

As we look toward our 100th anniversary, we're not just celebrating a century of history — we're celebrating a living legacy, with Mary watching over it all. Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Grotto will stand at the center of our campus, a sacred place where the past, the present, and the future will meet under her care.

May Mary Alma Mater watch over our Shamrocks, intercede for our school, and lead each of us closer to her Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
