Human Exploration Rover Challenge 2027

About

The Human Exploration Rover Team (HERT) and Human Exploration Remote Operation (HERO) team at Campbell University represent the university each year at the NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge (HERC) in Huntsville, Alabama!

The NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge allows students to put months of hard engineering, manufacturing, and documentation work to the test against talented teams from across the country and around the world. It is an exciting, fast-paced competition that pushes them to think creatively, adapt quickly, work as a team, and perform under pressure.

We are raising funds to help cover the biggest challenge the teams face outside of the competition course: getting everyone to Huntsville. Each team has dozens of members dedicated to competitive success and eager to help in person at the competition itself, which is the highlight of the entire year of work. The teams are simply not able to bring all deserving members without outside financial support, which also lets other resources stay focused on designing, building, testing, and improving our competition systems.

Every contribution helps Campbell University students turn ideas into real machines, gain valuable hands-on experience, compete on a national stage, and continue building the next generation of HERT and HERO. Your support helps get the teams—and everything they build—to Huntsville and onto the competition course!
