At the Center for the Study of Correctional Education, we believe that education is a human right, and we are working to make educational opportunities widely available to all members of our community. Your gift will provide access to higher education to incarcerated people in the Inland Empire by funding essential costs, including tuition, books, and school supplies.
We ask for your support to further expand our programming based on the Inside-Out model in the 2023-2024 academic year. Since 1997, the Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program has brought together incarcerated (inside) students and traditional, non-incarcerated (outside) students to take college courses together in the classroom of a correctional facility.
In fall 2021, CSUSB offered its first Inside-Out course, which profoundly impacted the participants. Learn more about our students' experiences in this video:
During the 2022-2023 academic year, CSUSB will expand our offerings to offer three courses at the California Rehabilitation Center. In fall 2023, we plan to expand our offerings even further with coursework in our Rhetoric and Professional Writing concentration.
What your gift can do:
- $5 buys school supplies for a student for a semester
- $50 buys textbooks for a student for a semester
- $500 buys textbooks for a cohort for a semester
- $2,500 pays for tuition for a student for a semester
