The Education Department's summer STREAM Campprovides an opportunity for education students to apply what they have learned in the classroom while serving as intern teachers for local elementary students. The three-week program focuses on Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics with the goals of enhancing students' skills in literacy while building background and enthusiasm for mathematics and the sciences. College student intern teachers plan daily activities for their assigned groups of elementary students. Quality children's literature is used as a focal point for camp activities. Hands-on experiences are used as teaching and learning tools while visual and performing arts are integrated throughout the day to engage students in learning and to encourage student expression.
Your gift to STREAM Camp will support this valuable experience for Marietta College student intern teachers and help to provide increased educational opportunities for local elementary students.
