Gifts to Go WCMO contribute to...
Students at Marietta College have many opportunities to gain experience across media platforms, even as first-semester freshmen! They work and learn in a collaborative environment that includes a TV station - WCMO-TV - two radio stations - WMRT-FM and WCMO-FM - and the student newspaper - The Marcolian.
Student media, located in the McKinney Media Center, serves the Marietta area and beyond and broadcasts music, talk, variety and sporting events, among other things. Marietta College students are involved in the day-to-day operation of the stations with the goals of honing their skills and producing original programming.
Yet, some of the equipment in the TV station is aging out: the video router system needs replaced, the audio board is nearing the end of its usefulness and the teleprompter system needs modernized. Additionally, we would like to work toward updating the older looking sets in the TV studio.
Your gift to Go WCMO! will ensure that today's Pioneers are honing their communication skills on updated equipment, gaining the experiences they need to enter the professional workforce while continuing to broadcast news and information to our entire community.
