The East Central University Athletic department had much to
celebrate during the 2022-2023 academic school year. Men’s Cross
Country continued its dominance in the GAC with its 8th conference
championship in 12 years, sent both Men’s and Women’s teams to the NCAA Central
Regionals, and had an individual participate in the NCAA D2 National
Championships as the only GAC representative. Football had the best
season in 30 years, finishing with a 9-3 record, making its seventh bowl
game appearance in school history at the Heritage Bowl, and were the 2022-23 D2
football statistical champions in turnover margin per game. Volleyball
continued its recent success by tying their record of most wins in a season
with 15 and claiming the No. 5 seed at the GAC tournament. Men’s and
Women’s Basketball also earned trips to the postseason tournament along with
numerous All-GAC performers and academic awards. With the spring sports
of Baseball, Softball and Track & Field still competing, we are Cheering
till the End !
While ECU provides our programs with an operations budget that allows us to compete in the Great American Conference, there are limitations which do not meet all of our needs. Your support allows us to better serve our athletes and give them a student-athlete experience that far exceeds anything else they could have under our allotted funds. Your monetary contributions would allow us to help our coaches recruit over the summer to meet our competitive needs. Also, your support allows us to help with tuition and fees for athletes over the summer break, and provide reinforcement to our finances going into Fall of 2023.
Your continued generosity will help ensure that our student athletes have the best possible NCAA Division II experience. The support of our athletic programs allows YOU to share memorable experiences, help create lifelong relationships, and connect to our student-athletes and staff. All gifts will receive a tax deduction as allowed by law.
