About

In just less than 7 months, the ETSU Marching Bucs will be on the road to the 2024 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City! However, we need your help to get there.

As you watch the parade on Thanksgiving Day, 2023, please keep in mind that the ETSU Marching Bucs have been invited to participate in the 2024 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on November 28, 2024. Only 12 high school and collegiate bands are invited each year and ETSU was one of three College/University bands in the nation to be invited. The Marching Bucs are the first Collegiate/University band to be selected from Tennessee in the last 60 years!

The Marching Bucs are beyond excited for this amazing opportunity, but we need your help in making it possible. The expense for transporting students and their equipment and uniforms, for hotel accommodations, food, and more, requires a big financial commitment. Our students and their families will be contributing and doing their part, but your assistance will be invaluable in helping us represent ETSU, Johnson City, TN; and our region to an audience of more than 30 million viewers! Simply click on the Give Now button at the top of this page. For our faculty and staffing wishing to make monthly gifts go to:

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is an annual parade in New York City presented by the U.S.-based department store chain Macy's. The Parade first took place in 1924, tying it for the second-oldest Thanksgiving parade in the United States. The three-hour parade is held in Manhattan, ending outside Macy's Herald Square. It takes place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Thanksgiving Day, and has been televised nationally on NBC since 1953. The Parade's workforce is made up of Macy's employees and their friends and family, all of whom work as volunteers.

If you are interested in attending the parade, please review information at the link below to participate in the ETSU Alumni & Friends accommodations package offered by Performing Arts Consultants/We Travel.
