Family and friends of Franco Patino are partnering with the University of Dayton to raise funds for Multi-Ethnic students who embody Franco’s passion and determination in achieving academic excellence at UD.
Franco Patino lived life to the fullest and always did his best to help others and create a safe space for Multi-Ethnic students at UD. Franco embodied true leadership and service. Franco, through his actions and how he lived, valued every person he came in contact with, platformed students in their leadership and worked hard to create a sense of belonging for students who often feel marginalized at UD. This memorial scholarship will not only honor Franco’s efforts, but also continue his legacy by positively impacting students who embody leadership and service.
Who We Are
We are the family and friends of Franco Patino, in partnership with UD’s Division of Student Development, the Multi-Ethnic Education and Engagement Center (MEC), members of Alpha Psi Lambda's Alpha Nu chapter and members of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE).
The Impact
Our goal is to reach $20,000 in funds raised in order to establish a current-use scholarship in memory of Franco. This scholarship will impact Multi-Ethnic students majoring in engineering at UD, with first consideration given to a student involved in either the Alpha Nu Chapter of Alpha Psi Lambda National Inc., or UD’s Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). Selected students will possess many of the strong leadership and service traits personified by Franco, through how he lived and how he loved!
If this fundraising initiative raises $50,000 or more by June 30, 2022, then the funds will be used to create an endowed scholarship which will live in perpetuity. If less than $20,000 is raised then the funds will support UD’s Multi-Ethic Education and Engagement Center (MEC). MEC supports the achievement of multi-ethnic students at UD by providing resources and programming including experiential and professional opportunities.

We have just ONE WEEK before our campaign ends.
Since the last update, we've raised an additional $2,000, bringing us to (almost!) 80% of our fundraising goal.
In order to establish a current use scholarship in Franco's memory we have to reach our $20,000 goal. We can't hit our goal without your support!
Here are a few ways you can support this campaign before it closes at the end of the day on February 10:
- Make a gift: If you've not yet made a gift, now is a great time to do so!
- Consider creating a matching or challenge gift, incentivizing others to give. This takes just a few short minutes to set up!
