​Arthur Fleischer Jr. 1958 Scholarship Fund

The Arthur Fleischer, Jr. 1958 Scholarship Fund was established by the firm of Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson in memory of their esteemed friend and partner, Arthur Fliescher, Jr. ’58.

A graduate of both Yale College and Yale Law School, Arthur joined Fried Frank as a summer associate in 1957, became a partner in 1967 and later served as co-chairman in 1989. Over his 65-year career, he was recognized as one of the greatest deal lawyers of his generation.

Arthur’s contributions extended far beyond corporate law. A champion of pro bono work and the arts, he was honored by Her Justice for his dedication to public service. He played a pivotal role in shaping Fried Frank’s art collection and championed investments in emerging artists—many of whose works still line the firm’s New York office today. He was also a board member and active participant in leading professional and cultural institutions, including the American Bar Association, American Law Institute, American Stock Exchange, Association of the Bar of the City of New York and The Whitney Museum.

“Arthur’s legacy is extraordinary. Without him, Fried Frank would not be the outstanding institution it is today,” said Chairman Kenneth Rosh. “We are profoundly grateful for his dedication, loyalty and friendship, and we know that so many of us will feel this loss very deeply.”
