WSU Student Emergency Relief Campaign

This campaign ended on April 22, 2020, but you can still make a gift to Wright State University by clicking here!

During this unprecedented time, it is important to come together as a community to support and care for our families, including our Wright State family.

Wright State moved all classes online and closed housing to ensure the safety and health of our students and our greater community. Ultimately, it's our students that are impacted in profound way, as there are a number of students in our community that these closures have hit particularly hard. Some are now facing difficult circumstances related to food, housing, lost wages, mental health, and various other financial constraints.

Already, we have seen a great outpouring from our alumni and donors asking how they can help our Wright State students.

Wright State University Foundation Challenge

The Wright State University Foundation is proud to announce a newly created Student Emergency Relief Campaign that will support students adversely effected by the current pandemic.  To encourage participation in this important effort, the Wright State University Foundation has established a challenge, where it will contribute an additional $1,000 for every 100 donors who contribute $10 or more to the newly established Student Emergency Relief Campaign.  We are grateful for the generosity of the Wright State Family and its willingness to assist students in this unprecedented time.

From the entire Wright State family, we appreciate your support and we thank you.

The WSU Student Emergency Relief Campaign will support the following funds:

Deedrick Student Support Fund (area of greatest need)
This is an existing fund within the Office of Student Affairs assisting students with emergency needs that potentially impact their success as a student. In response to the COVID-19 crisis and its impact on students, the scope of the fund is being expanded to assist students with food, toiletries, supplies, and funding for necessary medications; educational-related money for travel for students who may need to go home.

Counseling and Wellness Services Fund
During this uncertain time, many of our students are struggling with how to cope with the sudden changes in their college careers and personal lives. This fund supports counseling programs, helps to purchase supplies/technology, and other initiatives to help our students who are struggling.

Raider Food Pantry Fund
An asset in the Wright State community, this fund provides various food items and several days’ worth of groceries for students in essential need. Through the University closure, The Raider Food Pantry remains open with limited hours to provide needed food for our community.

Remote Learning Support Fund
As all classes have been moved to remote delivery, student aid for educational-related expenses has become a priority. This fund covers equipment and software costs associated with assisting students facing limited digital accessibility and content delivery in a remote learning environment.

Student Employment Relief Fund
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought difficult financial hardships for our students, particularly for our students who have lost hours at student jobs. This fund assists student employees whose campus job was impacted in the move to remote learning.
