About

The tradition of OneWoodberry has slowly developed from Tiger Day in 2009, to March Matchness in 2012, A Week for Woodberry in 2016, and then our first OneWoodberry in 2017. Now in its 9th year, we are confident that this year will be our most successful OneWoodberry ever. On Thursday, February 27, the global Woodberry community – students, alumni, parents, faculty, and staff — will unite for OneWoodberry to celebrate the school, each other, and support the nearly 400 boys in our care today.  Through TigerTV and WFSPN we will be broadcasting the impact of the Amici Fund – with prerecorded and live broadcasts hosted by Woodberry boys, including classes, club meetings, seated dinner, a live music jam, and more.

The Amici Fund has been and will always be the cornerstone of Woodberry’s culture of philanthropy and our unceasing effort to provide boys with a transformative experience as they grow to be the best version of themselves.  Amici touches every area of school life, and for each boy elevates a good opportunity into a potentially life-changing experience.

Over the years, we’ve occasionally heard alumni and parents wonder why, with all of our resources, Woodberry would ever need gifts to the Amici Fund.  We appreciate the question, and the opportunity to emphasize to everyone in the Tiger Nation how hard our team works to be good stewards of every gift. With a thriving Amici Fund, we keep tuition increases more moderate, invest in higher compensation for faculty and staff, commit to needed renovation of both iconic buildings and faculty housing, and add the extra experiences for boys that make Woodberry an even better opportunity.

Simply put, without Amici, we’re a lesser school. But with Amici, each year we renew our commitment to the boys and faculty and staff that care for them.  We remind ourselves that the essence of Woodberry remains the opportunity to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with a band of brothers who are developing lifelong values and leadership skills to make the world a little better.

Updates
Thank You for Supporting OneWoodberry

It has been a phenomenal day with alumni, parents, grandparents, students, staff, faculty, and friends banding together to celebrate OneWoodberry 2025! We hope you enjoyed looking in on the OneWoodberry celebrations on campus and seeing our students in action during the live programming.

OneWoodberry extended far beyond campus – we received gifts from 47 states and at least 12 countries. It was heartwarming to see so many Tigers at our nine regional events across the country, reconnecting with friends and cheering on the success of the day.

OneWoodberry's giving totals exceeded our goals in both total amount raised and number of donors. We deeply appreciate everyone who joined in the day – whether you contributed, attended an event, encouraged a friend to give, or followed along with the live broadcasts from WFSPN. The success of the day is a testament to the strength, commitment to our mission, generosity, and dedication of our community.

We will soon have official alumni giving totals, including recognition for the class with the most donors, the class with the highest giving percentage, and the class that contributed the most. Current parent support of OneWoodberry was also impressive, and a full report on current parent giving will be available soon.

OneWoodberry would not have been possible without the alumni and parent volunteers around the world who worked tirelessly to make this day a success. We also relied heavily on the students and faculty of WFSPN who hosted broadcasts throughout the day. WFSPN replays remain available here on the campaign page on the Woodberry LIVE tab.

The Alumni and Development Office will take the next few days to ensure all OneWoodberry gifts are accurately logged, and we look forward to reporting our final results to you in an email next week.

Thank you again for your unwavering support and for making OneWoodberry a resounding success. Your generosity and dedication are shaping the future of Woodberry and ensure we can continue to provide a transformative educational experience for the boys in our care!

GO TIGERS!

OneWoodberry ... Not Over Yet!

What an extraordinary day it's been, and it's not over yet.

We are incredibly proud of the way Tiger Nation has united for our 2025 OneWoodberry campaign. The energy and enthusiasm have been nothing short of inspiring from the very start.

Over 700 volunteers celebrated this day and inspired countless others to invest in our exceptional school. We achieved our $3 million goal before 1:00 p.m.; by 9:00 p.m., we crossed the $3.5 million dollar mark and also met our 3,000 donor goal. These remarkable achievements are a testament to the strength and spirit of our community.

However, it’s not over yet. The competition between classes is fierce, and the challenges among our young alumni classes are heating up! In these final hours, we encourage you to reach out to your classmates, and family members with Woodberry ties, and anyone who shares a passion for this incredible school.

If you’re looking for great tunes to finish the night, tune in now to the main video window above for a live music jam featuring students, faculty member Charlie Wright, and special guest Courtney Little ’91.

Your support and dedication are making a profound impact, and we appreciate every one of you and will provide another update later this evening. Let's finish strong and show the world what Tiger Nation can achieve! GO TIGERS!

Remembering the 100th Game

We are making excellent progress towards our goal! Keep up the great work, Tiger Nation!

Live in the main video window above, watch a recent conversation between the captains and head coach of the undefeated football team that claimed victory in the 100th Game in the fall of 2000, alongside this year’s undefeated team leaders. The Amici Fund supports Woodberry’s programs each year, encompassing everything from athletics to the arts to student clubs and beyond.

You also can enjoy a video highlighting the way our football program focuses on values. When the 2024 football team took the field for early ball last August, before there was any talk about wins and losses, Head Coach Jackson Matteo highlighted three core values: humility, trust, and effort. While the video features Coach Matteo and a few of his players discussing those values, the emphasis on character development and sportsmanship can be found on every Woodberry team — from Varsity down to Bengal. The Amici Fund supports all of these boys, the staff that supports them, and the faculty that mentors them.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has already supported OneWoodberry! For anyone that hasn’t yet, please consider making your gift above before 11:59 p.m. to help us reach our goals of 3,000 donors and $3 million raised for the Amici Fund. Join us throughout the day today to enjoy live coverage from WFSPN and to track our progress.

A Message from Catherine Wharton P’15 ’17

Today is OneWoodberry—a celebration of our community, values, and mission. It’s a day to support the school, every boy in our care, and the dedicated faculty and staff who cultivate and nurture the individual journey of every Tiger.

Join Tigers around the world in supporting OneWoodberry—make a gift, follow along with exciting programming, and celebrate the people and traditions that make our school exceptional. All gifts made between July 1, 2024, and 11:59 p.m. ET tonight count toward OneWoodberry and support the Amici Fund. If you’ve already given, thank you!

After eighteen years on the Woodberry faculty, I remain in awe of the unwavering commitment of our alumni and parents. Their loyalty to each other, our faculty, and the school's mission is truly inspiring.

Since 1889, the Walker family’s bold vision has shaped an institution where boys are known, challenged, and loved. Generations of alumni credit Woodberry with shaping their lives, and the record-breaking generosity of our entire community ensures future students will share the same transformative experience.

Let’s make this OneWoodberry a day to remember. Go Tigers!

How to Challenge/Match

Here are some ways you can have an impact on OneWoodberry's success:

Become an Advocate  Four Simple Steps to Become a OneWoodberry 2025 Advocate through GiveCampus.  We have partnered with GiveCampus, a social fundraising platform that allows users to create a profile and track their impact through the course of the campaign.

It’s easy. Here are four simple steps:

1. Click on the "Become An Advocate" button on the right side of the video above.

2. Create an account either by linking to your Facebook account or your email. You may have a sign on from last year.

3. Now that you’ve logged in to GiveCampus, go to the OneWoodberry 2025 Campaign. GiveCampus provides buttons which allow you to conveniently share the campaign link via social media, text, or email to your classmates.

4. Your GiveCampus account will show you how classmates, parents and/or others respond to your messages. You’ll be able to view how many times classmates clicked on the campaign from your posts, as well as identify the number of donors and dollars generated from your messages.

Create a Matching Gift or Gift Challenge! Here’s How:  Advocates can further motivate their classmates and other parents by creating a matching gift or gift challenge. To create one, click on the ‘offer a match’ or ‘offer a challenge’ button on the right side of the video above. Please note this personal campaign will not go live until February 27th.

Matching gifts are made on a per donor or per dollar basis (e.g., I will match up to $500 on a dollar-for-dollar basis for the next $500 that is donated -or- I will match $20 per donor in my class). Gift challenges are milestone-based (e.g., if 100 people make a donation, I will give $250). We recommend you keep your matches and challenges simple and attainable.

If you would like assistance setting up a match or challenge, please contact Bill Robertson, Director of the Amici Fund & Alumni Relations, at bill_robertson@woodberry.org.

This year we are increasing our focus on LinkedIn as the most effective and widely accessible platform for career networking purposes. Because of that, we are pushing hard this OneWoodberry to increase the number of followers of our public LinkedIn page (alumni, parents, friends) as well as the members of our private alumni group (alumni only, currently 1,794 members) so we can facilitate connections and robust conversations between alumni, parents, students, faculty, and staff.
