Chaplaincy

The Office of the University Chaplain exists to nurture the first and foundational term in Wingate's motto: Faith. Whether engaging students and employees in pastoral conversations, administering the Chapel program, reimagining sacred space on campus, promoting reflection on vocation and purpose, or advancing any number of other spiritual initiatives, the Chaplain cultivates Wingate’s Christian roots in a manner that encourages every Bulldog, of any religion or none, to pursue their deepest questions, their loftiest hopes, and, indeed, their full humanity from a profound conviction of their own belovedness. In this way the Chaplain's work supports the entirety of Wingate's motto, as it liberates the campus community to search for Knowledge without fearing the truth and to practice Service without counting the cost.

This year your gift could especially empower the work of a new Campus Minister, a new Certificate of Christian Ministry, and a new faculty mentoring program. And the Office of the University Chaplain continues to envision the creation of campus spaces for prayer, meditation, and stillness; initiatives to help students discern and follow their callings; and events where artists and their creations engage Bulldogs in spiritual reflection and conversation.
