Wingate University proudly welcomes rugby as its newest varsity sport, joining a growing collegiate rugby landscape. With over 650 programs nationwide under National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) and USA Rugby, the sport continues to expand at all levels.

Leading the charge is head coach Frank McKinney, who brings a championship pedigree from Queens University, where he built a national powerhouse. Under his leadership, Queens reached the NCR Division I national championship and won a USA Rugby Division II national title. Now, he’s set to elevate Wingate Rugby from club to varsity status.
