Your support ensures that the visual and performing arts continue to thrive through on-campus and off-campus partnerships and programming.

Art plays an important role in shaping the future of our students, and more than 350 students take art classes at Wingate University each semester. Additionally, the beautiful Hinson Art Museum, opened in 2015, brings the visual arts to the heart of the Wingate University experience for our students. The museum hosts rotating exhibitions highlighting artists from across the country while also maintaining a permanent collection with unique pieces by North Carolina artists, including a fresco by Ben Long, in addition to works by international artists such as Picasso, Rembrandt, and Dali.

The Wingate University Department of Music, accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM), is widely recognized as one of the finest programs among liberal arts universities in the Southeast. Our students and ensembles have performed at state (NCMEA), regional (ACDA) and national (CBDNA) conferences. We have 100% job placement for our music education graduates, and many of our graduates have continued on to graduate school, including such esteemed programs as The Ohio State University, Louisiana State University and the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.
