Learning, leading, and excelling are the very definitions of athletics at Williams. Thanks to donors like you, Williams coaches can focus on being the best teachers and mentors possible, and giving students the tools they need to balance their academic and athletic lives -- even in the face of Covid-19.
The NESCAC athletic conference announced plans to hold a shortened spring 2021 competition season starting in mid-April, subject to continued stability or improvement in the Covid outlook. Williams then announced it will participate in a shortened spring season. Starting in mid-April, and assuming a continued safe outlook, Williams will allow travel for sports and other college-sponsored activities. Requirements will include participation in the campus Covid testing program and rapid antigen testing on the day of travel; traveling directly to the approved venue without stops; wearing masks at all times during the trip, including during competition; with all activities held outdoors unless otherwise authorized; and no spectators or guests.
The college's ability to offer this option is due to hard work by the Athletics Department team, who, in preparing for a NESCAC decision, saw the opportunity to design a plan that would also open up space for activities of all kinds. We are grateful to them for their hard work on everyone's behalf.

If conference competition proves feasible, regular season conference play would likely not start until late March or early April, and would necessarily be limited in scope and duration...

How would you generally compare this semester to previous semesters? It sounds like you’ve taken advantage of the greater flexibility to do what really interests you, but are there other other things you’ve noticed?
Yeah, so people are always shocked, when I say this, but I honestly think this semester has been one of the most fun semesters I’ve had at Williams.
