Gifts to Africana Studies contribute to...
Africana Studies goes beyond race — it explores the rich history, cultural traditions, politics and economics of the diverse nations that make up the African continent. It also examines the experiences of African people as they shape and adapt to new lives across North America, the Caribbean, Latin America, the Middle East, South Asia and Western Europe.
Your support of the Africana Studies Program Fund helps faculty develop, implement and promote marquee programs — such as major symposiums and distinguished lecture series — that enhance the program’s visibility, attract top students and faculty and foster deeper student engagement across W&M. Your support will help faculty develop new curriculum that expands the intellectual opportunities of students on campus. The Africana Studies program also uses these funds to encourage research collaborations between students and faculty.
