Fresh air. Good friends. New places to discover.
Whitties are often found exploring the Walla Walla Valley, the Blue Mountains and the surrounding areas—by bike, foot, kayak, cross-country skis—you get the idea! Whitman's unique location allows students to experience the very best of the Pacific Northwest. The Outdoor Program (OP) offers a variety of student trips into the wilderness throughout the year. These opportunities are made possible through the Bob Carson Outdoor Fund.
The Bob Carson Outdoor Fund (BCOF) allows each student to participate in one free Outdoor Program trip every academic year. The fund provides $150 per student per year to cover the cost of Outdoor Program fees so that the outdoors is open to all students regardless of their financial abilities. Each year nearly a quarter of Whitman students take advantage of this funding.
These experiences help students to develop problem-solving and leadership skills that are beneficial not only in the outdoors, but as they navigate life.
Wow! What Wonderful Whitties! It's the start of Day 1 and we are already 10% to our goal of 1500 donors. Let's keep the momentum going.
