Approximately 98,000 undocumented students graduate from high school every year in the U.S. Though college-ready, DREAMers are barred from federal financial aid, including scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study programs. 74% of undocumented students who leave school report they do so due to financial stress.
This year, we hope to continue to provide WIU's DREAMers still in need of financial support and the opportunity to finish strong and make WIU proud. In the words of one scholarship recipient:
"Without [the DREAMers Scholarship], I was working 12 hours every day just to pay for school."
