Did you know that the Highlands Biological Station is a garden of gardens? Over half of the 24-acre HBS campus consists of native plant botanical gardens collectively highlighting a generous cross-section of the rich southern Appalachian flora, from the 12-acre naturalistic historic garden to a constellation of specialty demonstration gardens: the HBS moss garden, bog garden, homeowner's demonstration garden, rock outcrop garden, pollinator conservation garden, and more.
Now in its 64th year, the HBS Botanical Gardens enrich HBS residents, students, day visitors, and the broader Catamount community in many ways, from research and education to recreation and contemplation.
Consider making a contribution to the HBS Advancement Fund this One Day for Western and see our Botanical Gardens grow!
