Eric Barry graduated from WTAMU in 2004 after studying both music and business. After deciding to pursue music full-time, he earned a master's degree and an artist diploma from Yale University. He and his wife, Judge Ana Estevez, set up the Eric Barry Endowed Opera Scholarship. A $1,000 scholarship is presented to the winner of the annual Eric Barry Vocal Competition, sponsored by the WT Opera Program, with an additional award provided for an honorable mention candidate.
