Support Ag students as they travel abroad to
New Zealand!
This agricultural study abroad provides an unforgettable experience for students and faculty. This tradition, started by Dr. Don Williams, has been kept alive through several recent faculty-led study abroad trips to Australia and New Zealand. This year, Dr. Bridget Guerrero and Dr. Emilie Baker will be traveling with approximately 25 students to experience and learn about agriculture in New Zealand.
This program focuses on dairy, sheep, beef, horticulture, regenerative systems, processors and suppliers, international partners and trade, banking and agribusinesses, and agricultural and environmental policies. New Zealand is known for their export-oriented agriculture combined with very limited subsidies and a strong environmental focus, offering plentiful examples of innovative approaches to relevant challenges.
Additional goals include:
• Provide students with an international experience
• Form networks, relationships, and friendships with agriculture professionals in host countries
• Serve as international ambassadors and represent WTAMU Buffs abroad
• Learn through experience how to address global agricultural challenges
