WSU Green Infrastructure
Wayne State University is committed to creating a campus that protects both people and wildlife. This Giving Day, the Office of Campus Sustainability is raising funds to expand access to and enhance green space across campus. This initiative focuses on reducing urban flooding risks and helping to re-wild our urban ecosystem by planting pollinator gardens, increasing our tree canopy, and installing bioswales.
Your support will help us accomplish the following projects:
- STEM Building Pollinator Shade Garden in partnership with the Green Warriors Student Group
- IBio Native Flower and Pollinator Garden
- Carbon Buffer Zone Urban Forest (approximately two acres located between Palmer, I-94, and 2nd Ave bridge)
With your help this Giving Day, these green infrastructure solutions will improve stormwater management, reduce urban heat island effects, and enhance air quality, contributing to a healthier campus and creating vibrant, biodiverse community spaces.
