A degree in English prepares students for success in every career. As students gain skills in reading, writing, research, analysis, and critical thinking, they prepare to excel in a wide variety of fields: business, education, journalism, law, medicine, non-profit work, publishing and professional writing. The English Department is made up of several strong areas of study, including creative writing, film and media studies, literary and cultural studies, and rhetoric and composition studies.
- Gifts supporting the English Department Annual Fund help provide department-specific resources, expanding the departmentโs ability to support a wide range of experiential learning opportunities. Paid internships are a crucial part of an English studentโs education. The average cost to fund a student internship for one semester is $2,100. Today, your gift to our Annual Fund will help provide invaluable experience for our students.
