Wayne State's Department of Economics provides students with a rigorous, broad and critical program in theoretical and empirical economics. This program prepares students to review alternative approaches and evidence to analyze economic phenomena, evaluate policy debate and assess the broader social and political implications and consequences of economic activity.

• Gifts supporting the Department of Economics Annual Fund help provide department-specific resources. These include expanding the department’s ability to support a wide range of experiential learning opportunities, awards for student travel to professional conferences, internships, departmental events and programs, funding for student and faculty research, and more. Gifts to our annual fund also help us support our growing graduate program, providing crucial funding to post-doctoral fellows.
