About

Giving Day contributions of every size make a major difference! Support the Psychology Department today or give to another area that helps the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

  • Increase your impact! Psychology Department Chair Scott Bowen is matching donations to the Psychology Department Annual Fund – up to $500!
  • That's not all! When Psychology Department faculty and staff make a gift on Giving Day, Lisa Jane Rapport, Ph.D. will provide a $10 match.

Wayne State provides a broad spectrum of psychology education that prepares students for careers in marketing, teaching, human resources and many other related fields. Psychology majors are trained in critical thinking, ethical reasoning, interpersonal communication, research design and much more!

  • Gifts supporting the Psychology Annual Fund help provide department-specific resources; expanding the department’s ability to support a wide range of College to Career and experiential learning opportunities, including: awards for student travel to professional conferences, departmental events and programs, internships, funding for student and faculty research, and more.
  • Contributions to the Psychology Scholarship Fund directly impact students by helping to make education accessible – keeping the department competitive with peers and ensuring that students have the financial support they need to complete their educational programs.
  • Wayne State University’s Psychology Clinic provides psychological assessment and treatment for students, staff and residents of the Metro-Detroit area. The clinic serves as a training facility for the clinical psychology Ph.D. program. Our training clinic is staffed by doctoral students in the clinical psychology area. These students provide services in the clinic beginning in their first year and ending when they leave the WSU campus for internship in their fifth or sixth year. We provide both therapy and psychological assessments to members of the campus as well as community members from the metro Detroit area ranging from early childhood to older adulthood. We have approximately 30 students, each providing services to one to three clients at any given point throughout the academic year.

Achieve your charitable goals and create your WSU legacy with a gift in your estate plan.

Wayne State faculty and staff can give via payroll deduction here.
