St. Jean de Brébeuf, S.J. Merit Scholarship

St. John de Brébeuf, SJ Academic and Leadership Scholarships are awarded to incoming Walsh Jesuit High School students who demonstrate exceptional academic excellence and a strong commitment to Ignatian leadership. Named in honor of St. John de Brébeuf, on of the North American Martyrs, this scholarship recognizes students who character and aspirations reflect the courage, dedication, and intellectual depth that marked Brébeuf's life.

A gifted scholars and one of the most learned Jesuits of his time, Brébeuf mastered multiple languages and pursued knowledge with humility and purpose. His life exemplified the Jesuit ideals of forming the mind, nurturing the spirit, and using one's gifts in service to others. Through his missionary work, he modeled leadership rooted not in authority, but in compassion, respect for culture, and a deep desire to accompany others.
