Founder's Giving Day

We did it! The Vassar community is amazing! Together, over 3,200 donors raised almost $700,000 for Vassar students and faculty, proving the power of the collective can truly make a difference. THANK YOU!

Thanks to your amazing generosity, we have met and exceeded every goal so far for Vassar’s very first Founder’s Giving Day – thank you! 

And with only a few hours to go, we have one more goal - for as many more donors to make a gift as possible! And as a final incentive, a group of generous alumnae/i have decided to give $100 for EACH gift we receive - up to $45,000! Your gift, no matter the amount, will bring Vassar an additional $100. 

So if you still haven’t given yet but have been meaning to … well, why horse around? (After all, this Saturday is both Founder’s Day on campus and Kentucky Derby day!)

Your amazing generosity has helped us fly through our second goal of 1,861 donors!

But, we are not stopping yet!  With seven hours left in our first Founder's Giving Day, we've got a new goal. We're looking to get 2,334 donors - that's one donor for every student at Vassar this year!  And, a generous alum has just reached out and promised us an additional $50,000 if we meet this new goal!!

So, let's do this!

We have hit our goal!  1,500 of you stepped up to donate on Founder’s Giving Day – and that means an extra $150,000 for Vassar, courtesy of a group of generous alumnae/i.  Thank you to everyone who has made this possible.

But of course, Vassar never rests on its laurels.  We’ve got a new goal – and it’s one that’s particularly appropriate for a day that honors our founder.  Since Matthew Vassar started all this in 1861, we’re looking to up our total number of donors to 1,861.  And if we do, yet another group of generous alumnae/i will kick in an additional $20,000 for our college.

 So if you haven’t given yet, now is the time!
