Brew2: The Challenge Returns

MEN'S TENNIS! They did an amazing job of working hard and improved their performance over last year by a whopping 650%! That huge number will earn them a big check for $5,000 donated by President Bradley and her husband John.  Congratulations!

MEN'S LACROSSE! (this really is deja vu this time)  They have crossed the finish line with a whopping 1,076 gifts! That huge number will earn them a big check for $5,000 donated by an Anonymous donor.  Congratulations!

#27Brew2 has finished!! Beginning at 9am, February 7, 2019, Vassar's 27 athletic teams had 27 hours to reach a goal of 3,700 gifts. Our generous donors blew that goal out of the water. We ended up with an astounding 5,960 gifts totaling $290,793 which will benefit all of our student-athletes. THANK YOU!!

MEN'S LACROSSE!!! (Deja vu) An amazing 218 gifts in an hour! But, overall, a shout out to all our Brewer fans, who stepped up with an unbelievable 558 gifts in 60 minutes! Go Brewers!

This has been an unbelievable 25 hours!  With only two hours to go, we are closing in on an astounding 5,000 gifts. But, we're gonna go out with a bang thanks to Mark Gottlieb '98!

We have one final challenge which will run for one hour from 10:30 - 11:30am. The team that gets the most gifts in that hour, will receive a whopping $1,000!! The race is on!

Vassar Athletics is so grateful for the over 4,600 donors who have stepped up for the #27Brew2 Challenge! We raised the bar this year, and cleared it with room to spare!

But, Leigh and Randy Porges '78 want to see how much higher we can go! They are going to match $5 for each of the next 200 gifts made, adding another $1,000 to our total. Three hours to go!

We continued to grow our numbers in both donors and dollars overnight. This is stupendous!  We just want to remind you to keep those gifts coming for your favorite team.

When #27Brew2 ends at 12pm today, the team with the most improvement over last year will get $5,000 thanks to a generous gift from our own President Bradley and her husband John. Which team are you supporting?

We're not the only ones thrilled that #27Brew2 has hit its goal of 3,700 gifts this early. Kyle Giunta '08 is so excited, he wants to push this further! He has put up $1,000 in challenge dollars if we can reach our new goal of 4,000. Let's do this!

At 7:00 pm sharp, we’re going to start a 27 minute challenge.  The team that scores the most gifts in that 27 minute period will get a $500 prize from Vice President for Alumnae/i Affairs and Development, Tim Kane.  Get ready. Get set. Go Brewers!

Thanks to Steve Hankins' generosity, we have hit our next milestone of 2,700 gifts! This puts us at 73% of our overall goal (3,700 gifts), with 1,000 gifts needed to reach it.  Let's keep the momentum going and keep those gifts coming in. Go Brewers!

Our next challenge is here!  Steve Hankins '85, P'13, P'17, AAVC President and AAVC Trustee is back in the race with another challenge! This generous athlete is with us for the long haul. He's putting up $2,700 of his own money towards our next milestone of 2,700 gifts. We are well on our way towards the final goal of 3,700 donors! Thank you, Steve!

We've just cleared a huge hurdle!  We just crossed the halfway mark, with over 1,850 gifts!  

Michelle Walsh, Director of Athletics issued her own challenge to Vassar's student-athletes. She put up $500 of her own money to the team that had the most advocates with personal plea videos by noon today. 

Walsh was so impressed with two teams' performances, that she is awarding both the baseball and women's basketball team $250 each.  Great job to all student-athletes! Go Brewers!

Good morning! As #27Brew2 gets underway, we wanted to provide some clarifying info which might help those who are trying to create matches and challenges, especially team specific matches. 

Matches can be set up to directly match gifts to a specific team.  This is the best way to ensure that funds stay team specific if that is the donor’s intention.

Challenges can only be based on overall campaign progress (i.e. total donors or dollars to the entire #27Brew2 campaign), but the donor’s challenge money can go to a team.  

To properly set up a match, please follow these instructions (see accompanying image):

1) After entering your donation amount, select your designation (team choice, or Brewers Fund).

2)Then check the button that says “match your affiliation, a designation, or a list of friends”.

3) Ignore the select an affiliation.

4) Then move down to the next button that says 'match only donations to your designation' and check that. That will ensure it stays team specific. The image below should help with this explanation.
