June 6th, 2024, marks the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day invasion. Valdosta State University is working with the leadership of our ROTC Detachment 172 to send a group of cadets to Normandy in 2024 to experience this historic location. As these cadets prepare to become the newest commissioned officers in the United States Air Force and Space Force, we believe this is an excellent opportunity for them to see where so many individuals made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms. We hope that providing this experience can express part of our gratitude to these students for their commitment to serve and support this nation.
We are asking for your help to make this trip possible. We are currently planning for cadets, selected faculty members, and an Air War College professor to travel in May of 2024 for a 1-week immersion.
