Beyond the Classroom: VSU Art & Design at Miami Art Basel.

Help 12 VSU Art and Design students experience Miami Art Basel and exhibitions without the cost becoming a barrier to participation!

This December, 12 Valdosta State University Art and Design students will have the opportunity to travel to Miami for an immersive educational experience during Miami Art Week.

From December 3rd -6th, students will step beyond the classroom and experience contemporary art and design on an international stage. They will explore exhibitions, encounter the work of established and emerging artists, and gain firsthand insight into the galleries, museums and creative communities shaping today’s art world.

For some of these students, this will be their first opportunity to experience an event of this scale and possibly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The Department of Art and Design is covering the students’ lodging expenses. Our goal is to raise $5,000 to help cover the remaining costs of the trip, including:

• Transportation to and from Miami

• Meals for the participating students

• Admission to exhibitions and related events

• Additional educational experiences available during Miami Art Week

Our goal is to offer this opportunity without placing an additional financial burden on the students. Every gift, regardless of size, will help make this meaningful experience more accessible.
