Supporting Wellness, Belonging, and the Aggie Experience
Campus Recreation plays a meaningful role in the student experience at Utah State University by creating opportunities for students to move, connect, compete, lead, and belong. Through facilities, programs, outdoor adventures, intramural sports, fitness, aquatics, nutrition, esports, sport clubs, and student employment, Campus Recreation supports student wellness both inside and outside the classroom.
In 2025–26, Campus Recreation recorded more than 553,000 recreation touchpoints, including 468,639 facility visits and 84,688 program and service touchpoints. Students continue to report that Campus Recreation contributes to their wellness, stress reduction, sense of belonging, and overall connection to USU. Your support helps sustain the spaces, programs, and experiences that make Campus Recreation one of the most visible and impactful student engagement resources on campus.
Our Mission
The Campus Recreation Day of Giving campaign seeks to support:
- Accessible recreation, wellness, and adventure opportunities for USU students
- Programs and services that help students build healthy routines, manage stress, and find community
- Sport Club athletes as they compete, travel, lead, and represent Utah State
- Facility and equipment improvements that enhance the student experience
- Student development through employment, leadership, teamwork, and career-readiness opportunities
Investing in Student Success
Campus Recreation is more than a place to work out. It is part of the broader student success ecosystem at USU. In Fall 2025, students who used Campus Recreation facilities had an average term GPA of 3.45, with students in the highest facility-use group averaging 3.541. While recreation participation is only one part of a student’s overall experience, these indicators reinforce the connection between healthy routines, campus engagement, belonging, and persistence.
Supporting Sport Clubs
USU Sport Clubs provide students with opportunities to compete, travel, lead, and build lifelong connections through sport. With 25 clubs and more than 850 student-athletes, Sport Clubs are one of the most powerful examples of student-driven leadership within Campus Recreation. Gifts to Campus Recreation help reduce barriers, support team development, and strengthen the experience of Aggies representing Utah State.
Sport Club athletes describe their experience as a source of friendship, skill development, academic support, and belonging:
- “I have made a ton of friends, become a better climber, and had a ton of fun!”
- “Club sports are amazing because they get people involved and bring a sense of community.”
- “They have helped me not just in rodeo but also in my academics.”
These experiences are made possible through student leadership, coaching, travel, equipment, and team support. Your gift helps ensure Sport Club athletes can continue to compete, grow, and represent Utah State with pride.
Student Voices
Students describe Campus Recreation as welcoming, accessible, and full of opportunities to get involved. In this year’s satisfaction survey, students highlighted the value of recreation spaces, supportive staff, affordable access, and the variety of programs and services available to the USU community.
- “I think you're all doing a wonderful job, and I'm very grateful for everything that's provided to me as a student.”
- “Allowing access to all current students at no extra cost is amazing.”
- “Creates a welcoming environment for all individuals with wellness goals.”
- “I love how many ways and opportunities there are to get involved!”
- “The facilities and programs are really nice. I appreciate how much there is to do and all the events that are put on as well.”
- “It’s a great place to be and very welcoming!”
These student voices reflect the heart of Campus Recreation: a place where Aggies can find wellness, connection, belonging, and meaningful experiences beyond the classroom.
