Utah 4-H youth programs address key areas to assist youth in the development of leadership and life skills, healthy living, physical and mental health, civic engagement, and STEM literacy.
Research shows that youth who achieve positive developmental outcomes are more likely to also achieve long-term, positive outcomes such as vocational or academic success, civic engagement, employability, economic stability, and happiness and well-being.
In Utah, youth mental health was identified as an urgent issue in county and statewide needs assessments. As a response, 4-H programs were developed to help improve their overall well-being. A 2022 evaluation of 442 youth showed that those engaged in Utah 4-H showed a 25% increase in their concern for others, a 22% increase in goal-setting skills, and a 16% increase in problem-solving skills.
Your donation will help our Utah youth continue to achieve long-term, positive outcomes.
