Gifts to UPR: Utah Public Radio contribute to...
Utah Public Radio is celebrating 70 Years as Utah’s first public radio station. UPR is a non-profit statewide broadcast, digital, and social media news and information service. Utah State University is the licensee of this public broadcast service as authorized by the Federal Communications Commission. As part of an institution of higher education, UPR takes seriously our opportunity and obligation to influence and train students interested in all forms of journalism and communication. Funding to support our UPR student internship program comes from USU, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and private donors.
The Corey Flintoff Student Reporter Fund is one of three funds used to compensate young journalists so they can focus on this valuable UPR training. Mr. Flintoff is a former NPR foreign correspondent assigned to Iraq, Afghanistan, Ukraine, and Russia. He, along with donors like you, make it possible for USU students to become immersed in a professional newsroom experience without the added pressure of having to seek outside employment.
This 24-hour campaign is critical and we are depending on the support of our generous donors now more than ever so that we can continue to assist in the cost of providing and maintaining operations and the training of students. Please consider donating today to UPR to help ensure students receive the practical and professional training they need before graduating.
