Rising food and housing costs are challenging for everyone, especially students who need to focus on their coursework, research, and internships. Being a "starving student" should not be seen as a rite of passage—adequate, nutritious food is essential for students to succeed. Unfortunately, many students struggle to secure enough food on their own.
The Student Nutrition Access Center (SNAC), operated by the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences, has made a significant impact in addressing food insecurity on campus. In the past year alone, donations and use have increased, and SNAC was recognized as the university's organization of the year. Through SNAC, our nutrition and dietetics students have unique opportunities to teach their peers about nutrition, simple and healthy meals, and managing food budgets.
Food insecurity affects 33% of USU students, meaning they lack access to the food they need to lead active and healthy lives. SNAC collaborates with local organizations to provide nutritious food and fresh produce to students, staff, faculty, and their families. Your donation can make a meaningful difference in the health and well-being of our students, allowing them to thrive academically and personally.
