Who will ranch Wyoming 20 years from now? Maybe it's a young person growing up on a family ranch. Maybe it's a college student discovering agriculture for the first time. Maybe it's someone who hasn't found their way into agriculture yet.
University of Wyoming Ranch Camp is helping prepare them. Established in 2021 by UW Extension educators, Ranch Camp brings aspiring ranchers together with experienced producers, Extension educators and specialists, and industry experts for an intensive hands-on week on a working Wyoming ranch.
Participants work with livestock, study soils and rangelands, and explore ranch economics, diversification, and natural resource management. Then they put it all together: teams develop a management plan for their host operation and present it to ranch owners and agricultural professionals.
This Giving Day, our goal is $5,000 from 100 donors. Here is what your gift can do.
- $25 helps provide hands-on learning materials and supplies.
- $50 helps fund an honorarium for the host ranch.
- $100 helps offset the cost of meals and lodging.
- $200 helps provide a scholarship for a future Ranch Camp participant.
You don't have to own a ranch to invest in Wyoming's ranching future. Whether you give $25, $50, $100, or more, you help prepare the people who will ranch Wyoming tomorrow.
Give today.
